Provide pictures of guests to the bartenders of people you believe the bar tenders should water down drinks for.
- While this might sound mean, sometimes you have guests who you know will not know when to stop drinking, and can become belligerent or violent when they drink too much. You want them there, but perhaps you don't want them causing a scene.
A Bride's father carried $200 in $1 bills, why?
- During the dancing, the bride's father would hand out $1 each time he saw a guest do something he liked ie. something silly, the worm, back flip, any really good dance move.
This one's for the Bride.
- Once you are dressed with all of your makeup on and ready to go, lock yourself in the bathroom, alone. Take a moment to enjoy the last bit of quiet for the day and admire how beautiful you look.
Worried about all the men showing up on time?
- The night before the wedding have all the men stay at a family member's house, a grandmother or aunt's house for example.
Don't know what to do with the flowers when the wedding is over?
- Have people take them to the cemetery where flowers can be placed on the graves of the loved ones who couldn't be there.
What if you, the bride and your groom don't drink?
- Get hold of an expensive empty wine bottle, place it at the head table after it's filled with water. You can take place in the toasts and look
Special Perfume.
- Wear a special perfume. Something you have never worn before. In the future, only wear the perfume on Anniversaries and special occasions to bring you two back to your very special wedding day.
Don't hire family for any part of the wedding even if they're in the industry.
- If anything goes wrong, it's still family and it can cause a big riff and sometimes this can go on for years.
Inclement Weather
- If any part of your day is planned outside, make a plan with the venue in advance as to what will happen should it rain.
Three Pairs of Shoes
- Bring three pairs of shoes with you on your wedding day. heels, wedges, and flats. You will want the right shoes for photos, and you will want to be able to stay comfortable as the night goes on.
Bridal Shows and Expos
- Attend as many as you like, mostly to get ideas for you. Remember all the vendors at these events are paying big money to be there, which means they will have to charge more than vendors who don't do this. A single event like this can be equal to the entire cost a vendor charges for your wedding day. By all means, if you have the money and don't mind paying more then hire one of these vendors while you are there.
Stuck with too much dead time?
- If there's an unusually large amount of time between the ceremony and reception, offer up a snack station for guests. This will distract them and they'll mingle.
What if you're getting married, but are already pregnant?
- Tuck a few pregnancy nausea lozenges into your getting-ready bag. This can save you a lot of discomfort.
Having children at your wedding?
Provide small gift bags with a coloring book and crayons. This will keep them occupied during the ceremony, and in between events especially when waiting for food.
Is your wedding running late?
- Say around 10:00 PM offer a round of hours devours. If you have a baseball fan, have the Fenway sausage guy set up right outside the door. People love this.
Will you be entering either the cemetery or reception through a ceremony curtain?
- Pin a piece of the ceremony curtain. This will allow the designated persons to pull the curtain to the sides without there being someone's hand in the pictures when they do so.
