Our staff is unique and hand picked and the best in the industry, no one has our people. Each member of our staff love what they do, that's why we're in this industry. No two events are ever the same (even events that we work every year) so we don't treat them that way. Let Us Introduce Ourselves.
DJ Jason - Professional DJ and Master of Ceremonies, Owner
Jason is the owner and operator of A True Family Affair DJ Service. He began as a DJ in 1995, and uses a professional Bose audio sound system for his events. He is the father of two beautiful girls and has been married since 2002. Jason loves all kinds of music and considers this a dream job for him. He does what he loves, and loves what he does. He once danced on stage with Chubby Checker (real name Ernest Evans). Jason can also provide Karaoke for that little something extra for your event. He is also an accomplished Auctioneer as well as a professional trombone player, and plays in a local swing band on the side. He lives in Lynn, MA and serves Greater Boston, North and South Shores, and Southern NH.
DJ Rich - Professional DJ and Master of Ceremonies
Rich started as a DJ back in 1993. He uses Peavy speakers with a Numark dual CD player as well as a computer. He coaches youth hockey for Acton/Boxboro, is also a soccer referee, and is a grade F soccer coach. He comes from a large family of 9 kids. Rich's favorite era of music is the 1950's Doo Wop. Before coming to A True Family Affair DJ Service, Rich worked with a well known DJ company in Colorado for 10 plus years, and came to us after moving back to MA to be closer to family. Rich lives in Chelmsford MA, and serves from Concord NH to Fitchburg MA, and the surrounding areas. Rich is also our Senior Auctioneer.
DJ Gabe - Professional DJ and Master of Ceremonies
Hey, I'm DJ Gabe, and I can't wait to rock your next party! I fell in love with DJing eight years ago, and I've been rocking parties professionally since high school. As a college student I relate to kids with ease, keeping them engaged with the latest hits while energizing adults with timeless classics. Graade schools, middle schools, high school poms are where I started. I also do corporate events and weddings. I serve from the north shore to Boston and the south shore.
DJ Rachel - Professional DJ
Rachel has been working as a DJ with A True Family Affair since 2014. For her first three years with us, Rachel worked strictly kids events. Now, she works all kinds of events and can run all aspects of music, sound, and lights. She has a passion for all types of music from the Roaring 20's to current pop and hip-hop. She also loves musicals (especially some of the older ones). Rachel is currently a college student.
Melissa Bohanon - DJ Assistant
Tribute - 1970-2023
Melissa had been with us from the very beginning. She is the sister of Jason Bohanon. She loved music and loved to help out at events. She was very comfortable behind the computer, setting up equipment, and so much more. She was a blessing to all who knew her. While generally quiet in nature, she had an adventurous side, went sky diving, flew a plane and loved walking in the woods. She will be sorely missed.
