Our brides have often spent hours doing research so that they can find the absolute best for their weddings. Here is a list of all the typical questions these brides ask us, along with our answers. We believe this will help you decide if we are a good fit for you.
How long have you been doing what you do, and how did you become a DJ?
I started as a DJ on college radio and enjoyed it so much that I began working as a DJ for private events for friends and family in 1995. After a short period of time I turned my love of music into the business that has become what you see here today. All of our DJ's have a minimum 15 years experience each.
We love what you have to offer, and everything sounds perfect. So can you tell us what sets you apart from all the other DJ's out there?
There are a few things that set us apart from our competition. Our attention to detail is our biggest asset from the moment you hire us until the job is over, our focus is on you. The moment your first guest arrives, we become people watchers. We look for subtle reactions from music being played. This assures that we play the best possible music for the crowd at hand. We have been unable to find another DJ service in New England that does what we do. We also offer the biggest bang for the buck. While we know money shouldn't be your biggest motivator, we do offer interactive services and go as far as offering group dance instruction, trivia and more. We can also be as laid back as you desire. We do all this without ever going overboard.
This all sounds so wonderful, but it seems so expensive. Are we going to be able to afford all this?
You are truly the only one who can answer this question, however we require only a small amount of money down and your remainder balance is due only 7 days before your wedding.
Who is not going to benefit from your services?
The only brides that will not benefit from our services are those that are looking for a club atmosphere at their wedding. While we strive to keep people on the dance floor we do not change songs every minute and a half. Most guests want to hear the full song.
Do you have back up equipment?
Yes
Will you work with our other vendors?
Of course. We will work directly with your photographer, caterer and any other vendors you might have to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In fact we will ask for your other vendors' information so that we can contact them in advance and introduce ourselves. You can also use some of our own vendors. Since we already work together on a regular basis we understand how the others work.
What payment types do you accept? Can we have a payment plan?
We accept checks, bank checks, or money orders. (The government likes a paper trail.) We'll be happy to work out a payment plan with you should you need one.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you take more than one wedding a day?
The short answer is no. While we have 4 DJ's only 3 of them can be booked on any given day for a wedding, and only one wedding for each DJ. The 4th DJ remains un-booked, so that he/she would be able to fill in if there was an emergency preventing one of our DJ's from getting to the wedding. (To date, we have never had a DJ miss an event due to an emergency.)
What about the music? What if you don't have a song we want?
We carry a music collection that begins in 1920 and carries on through the hit music of today. If you want a song that we don't have, and it's still commercially available... we'll get it. If you have something more obscure like a favorite song from a retired local band perhaps, and have a copy of the song on CD or a digital copy like an MP3, we'll be happy to play it for you.
May we contact some of your previous clients?
Yes. In fact you can see what some of our clients have written about us by visiting our wedding testimonials page. You may also see what clients have had to say about us from other types of events we have done by visiting our testimonials page or by visiting Google or Facebook.
We have a couple more questions before getting started. Can I call you to discuss further?
Yes, in fact we highly encourage and require all of our clients to schedule your Get Acquainted, Complimentary Consultation so that we can get all of your questions out of the way, answered, and make sure that we're a great fit for one another. We can meet in person, discuss over the phone or via Zoom. If you have any questions, you may call me at 781-581-0554 or email me at info@atruefamilyaffair.com.
